The Winkleigh Singers was formed in 1984 and, over the years, have gained an enviable reputation for their extremely high standard in the performance of chamber music under the watchful eye of their Musical Director, Roland Smith. The choir's repertoire ranges from early music to contemporary settings of both sacred and secular music.

There are approximately twenty singers in the choir and, sometimes, to ensure a high quality of performance, especially of a major work, they invite professional soloists and musicians to perform with them at concerts. Ticket prices do not always cover expenses and, to help them 'balance the books', they are inviting their regular supporters to become 'Friends of Winkleigh Singers'.

A Friend is asked for a minimum annual subscription of £10, and the benefits of this include:

the regular early receipt of information about concerts, including newsletters, and
a £2 discount on the price of concert tickets for the Friend
invitations to choir social events
